Merstham Cricket Club was founded in 1864 and has played continually at the Quality Street ground.

As a Community club we offer plenty of opportunities for local community to play and enjoy the sport as well as are wonderful surroundings, we run 5 adult teams, 3 league teams on Saturdays and 2 social sides on Sundays. This fits along side the midweek team and an Indoor team that competes over the winter.

The club has always had a strong belief in junior cricket, which over the past five years as been further developed. This development included encouraging players from local schools, which did not have facilities for the training and playing of cricket. We now have teams playing at under 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, and 17. By doing this it gives a very strong foundation for our five senior sides.

As a club we are committed to the ECB save hands policy in our management and organisation of junior cricket. This policy covers the CRB clearance of all junior section managers and coaches along with senior officials of the club. We have a players and spectators code of conduct.

We now wish to move the club on to become an ECB focus club and as part of this we are endeavouring to make firmer links with schools in the community.

In 2007 we ran after school coaching in 3 local primary schools providing an introduction to Cricket to well over a 100 Students. These session then finished with the club hosting the 2007 Asda Kwick Cricket festival where 15 primary school took part at the ground. After last year's success one of the schools coached by the club went through to the County Finals, we are looking to introduce one more school to the coaching programme and also plan to hold a Year 5 competition, as well as the facility being used by local Secondary schools, again providing opportunity for the local community
