The Ring

Formerly the home of Redhill and Old Coulsdon Cricket Club, Merstham have been playing at The Ring since 2013. It is used on matchdays as our 2nd home ground.

The Ring is situated on Earslwood common just South of Redhill a few miles south of Merstham along the A23.

Facilities are a tea room with tables and chairs plus sink/ fridge/ kettle & 2 toilets.  2 changing rooms are available with players shower and a toilet.

It is within the beautiful Earlswood Common and lovely to sit on the boundary to enjoy the cricket although we have no failities for visitors or a bar at The Ring. Visiting teams are more than welcome and encouraged to return to the main MCC cricket ground after matches to enjoy a few drinks and socialise with our other teams.

By Road

Heading South on the A23 drive through Redhill and continue on followings signs for Horley and East Surrey Hospital.

After you have passed a BP garage, you will go through traffic lights on a large junction. You will now reach the brow of the hill and see Earlswood common opening up in front of you on both sides of the road.

Before you reach the common, turn right onto Church Road.

As Church Road bends to the right, turn left onto St Johns, you will see a gravelled car park in front of you with a gate at the far end.

Limited parking is available at the side of the changing rooms so you are better off parking in this car park and walking down through the gate (which is very unlikely to be open to vehicles on match days).

The track goes through a wooded area, keep following it straight ahead and it will lead you to the common where the cricket ground is.

By Train

The nearest train station is Earslwood, which is on the main London to Brighton with good links to London Victoria, London Bridge, East Croydon, Clapham Junction, Guilford, Reading and Gatwick Airport.

From the station, exit on the side of a curry house (by the name of Ruchita) and newsagent. With the Indian restaurant on your left, walk to the junction of Station Way/St Johns Terrace Road & Earlswood Road.  Continue up Earlswood Road & tune left on Woodlands Road.  Progress up to and cross the A23, you should now be on Church Road. Follow this and turn left onto St Johns. This starts out as a tar road and soon changes to a dirt track.  Keep following this down through the trees and it will lead you to the common where the cricket ground is.
