Fantastic success for MCC

The 1st Team finally secured promotion after gaining an easy win over Croydon MO on a terrible pitch at Chaldon.

Congratulations must go to Ed Loader the Captain and in particular to Nasir Hossain, who in his first season at the club has gained an amazing record of 71 wickets, unbelievable !!! Joe Shinners, Manish Patel, Simon Rivers, Ali Pervaiz, Adeel Ahmed, Wasil Mohar, Ed Dawson who was behind the stumps in his first season was a welcome new addition as well as Nav Saeed, Liam Powell and James Lowe.

The 2nd Team ,after gaining promotion last season, have now finished 4th after their first season in Division 1 of the Fullers League, a tremendous achievement. Congratulations go to Richard Feist and Jason Drewett with Andy Rivers, Neil Maplesden, Jason Kyte and Imran and Safyan Aslam being the mainstays of this team alongside the evergreen Dave Loader.

The 3rd Team managed to secure 7th place out of 17 after narrowly avoiding relegation last season . Saqib Khan has done really well with help from many experienced players and youngsters coming through with much maturity. Notably Shakir khan, Lithon Tarodfer showing great consistency with the bat alongside Jeff Spencer and Arsalan Abbas.

The new 4th team as well managed to win some games and enjoy plenty of competitive League cricket. Mike Wadsley doing a great job with Kashif Noon scoring the most runs and having the best average by far. With the ball Ben Carter showed great promise and it is here that we applaud Rob Wood, our only Godstone player who, behind the stumps integrated seamlessly into Merstham Cricket Club. A great season, well done to all our Saturday League teams.
