Healthy first friendly win

Merstham's first team opened the season with a comprehensive victory in a friendly against Woodmansterne on Saturday.

New recruits Muhammad Noman Javid scored a century and Ashar Syed 50 for Nav Saeed's side, with Ali Pervaiz also contributing a half-century as the hosts notched a huge 318.

The visitors were all out for 27 as Merstham's pace attack had a fine day in the field.

Suliman Younis, in his second season with the club, used his tremendous pace to take three wickets with the other wickets shared around.
