150 years of Merstham Cricket Club in Surrey Mirror, Yesteryear

Merstham Cricket Club features in the current edition of the Surrey Mirror, taking up the Yesteryear section of the paper edited by the paper's long-standing community editor Mark Davison.

This double page feature starts with how the document '100 years of Merstham Cricket Club' describes the history of the club up until 1964 and then uses testimonies from a few present and past players to build a picture of how the club has evolved over the past 50 years.

The July 31, 2014 edition of the newspaper will be in shops until Wednesday evening (the paper comes out weekly on Thursdays) so be sure to secure your copy by visiting your newsagent swiftly. Yesteryear does not appear online.

There must be many thousands of people whose lives the club has touched or played a part in and we would be delighted to hear from you for our 'book of memories', which sits on the bar in our Quality Street clubhouse. Feel free to write/print it out and to include photos or if you wish to send words electronically please email ilamontnews@hotmail.com
