Vote for Merstham CC in Surrey Mirror awards
We are delighted to announce that Merstham Cricket Club's first team has been shortlisted in the Surrey Mirror sports awards for Team of the Year – and now we need YOUR votes and support to win.
Imagine what a fantastic end it would be to our 150th anniversary year to crown our club’s first team the winners of this comeptitoin, after a fabulous year on and off the pitch.
This summer, Nav Saeed’s first XI not only won promotion from the Fuller’s League Division Two, but they won the title and amassed more than 300 points in a season. They won 15 of 17 completed matches (with one abandoned).
By being shortlisted in this competition the first team are representing the whole club.
You can vote in two ways: either fill in the form on page 63 of this week’s Surrey Mirror (edition date October 30, 2014), crucially inserting the voting code 6026 and posting the coupon, or by text.
To do this you text SU SPORT, the four digit voting code, your name, house number and postcode to 63333 - so, SU SPORT 6026 [Full name] [house number] [postcode] – remembering the spaces. Texts cost 50p each plus one standard network rate message. (Terms and conditions apply)

The closing date for votes is Sunday November 23 at midnight.
Your votes will decide the top five who will go in front of the final judging panel. The top three will be invited to an awards presentation at the The Harlequin Theatre, Redhill, on February 12 when the winner of each category will be announced.
In a competition which runs across the Surrey Mirror plus Mole Valley, Merstham Cricket Club’s first team has been shortlisted along with Bookham Rifle Club’s A team, Leatherhead Hockey Club, Dorking Rugby Club, Warlingham Wizards (rugby sevens), Leatherhead FC, Reigate Priory Cricket Club, Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians CC and Ashtead Cricket Club.
