Merstham's development team were outplayed by opponents Normandy in their first Trust League fixture of the season.

A strong Normandy team, who won the toss and elected to bat, saw off a decent start by Rory Crouch (10), whose wicket went to the pace of Mackenzie.

Jason Kyte (13) was playing well against the fast bowlers and new boy Damien Barnett looked a good bat before unfortunately played on, going for five.

Ed Dawson and Araslan Abbas played the same shot and were caught by the same player, Top scorer was Jez Gray who struck 14. An under-14 star of the future will be Ammar who bowled well. Merstham were all out for 121, Ben Carter not out on 11.

Chasing this score was no trouble for Normandy who only lost two wickets in 21 overs. There was good bowling from pacey A Jafferi and Damien Barnett.
