U10s beat Reigate Priory to win cup

A new cup sits in pride of place at Merstham Cricket Club after the under-10s won the East Surrey Colts League Cup competition, defeating Reigate Priory at Quality Street.
The match began brilliantly for the hosts when Noah Bateman took a wicket with his second ball. He took 2-14 in total.
Two wickets were also taken by Matthew Evans and Adam Swan as Reigate Priory were restricted to 262 and lost 14 wickets in this pairs match, having lost no more than eight in a game before.
When Merstham batted, Bateman began with 12, Swan struck a top score of 22 and Daniel Kite notched 19, Evans hit 17 and Akif Sabir 12, giving Merstham a total of 329 with only two wickets lost, from their 20 overs, to ensure David Swan's side won handsomely.
