Waitrose Open Day - Terry Garrett memorial match

IL
Ian Lamont 28 August, 2015

There has been a slight change of plan for the Waitrose Open Day on Sunday, when we shall honour our former treasurer Terry Garrett by playing in his memory.

The day will now consist of one 40 overs game, spready from 11am to about 6pm, with lunch and tea provided for players.

This is a change from the intended three matches of 15 overs a side.

Team line ups will be sorted on the day. There will be 30 overs before lunch, 30 overs after lunch and another 20 after tea, meaning plenty of time for drinking afterwards and reminiscing with old friends.

Several former Merstham players are returning for the occasion.

Terry's widow Margaret Garrett will lead the group of ladies making lunch and tea, which is being paid for courtesy of Waitrose vouchers. The supermarket chain sponsors the England team and is providing clubs with vouchers for open days as part of its partnership with the ECB.

Please come and support the following players on the day, it would be great to see you all:

Simon Caines, David Scott, Joseph Lewis, Chris Lowe, Michael Pitcher, Mark Robson, Alex Goodey, Ian Lamont, John Turner, Bharat Sahani, Tony Rickards, Bill Ash, Richard Feist, Arsalan Abass, Sumair Qasim, Nav Saeed, Joe Rees-Davies, Rory Crouch, Callum Letts, Jack Letts, Stephen Prior, Dan Feist.
