Merstham Cricket Club will be staging its NatWest Cricket Force weekend on Saturday April 2 and Sunday 3 – this is your chance to volunteer!

Remember, a club is only as good as its volunteers and members.

NatWest CricketForce is a nationwide initiative aimed at cricket clubs. The programme is designed to bring clubs and their local community closer together, and ensure they’re ready for the new season.

There are several jobs that need doing, both at Quality Street in Merstham and The Ring, on Earlswood Common.

At Quality Street, anyone with step ladders can come and help put up netting on our outdoor nets. Or they can help sand and paint the main doors at the clubhouse with sanders, sand paper, brushes and varnish that will be provided. The clubhouse also needs a good tidy up to make it fit for the season. Again, cleaning materials will be provided. Benches also need replacing to their position for the season, which begins just a couple of weeks later in mid-April.

There is also tidying up around the ground to do, including between trees and removing the scorebox panels.

Cutting and rolling the playing surface is another job, which is also one of the jobs required at The Ring, where people can also come along to fix the guttering and tidy the pavilion.

Both venues are used by juniors and adults for cricket and we would appreciate any help you, as members, can give. The venues will be open from 10am until at least 4pm on the Saturday. Some food refreshments will be provided at lunchtime. So, whether you can provide a few hours or a whole day, please come along and help your club prepare for what another busy season, which we hope will be another successful one on the pitch.

This year's NatWest Cricket Force has a partnership with Jewson. As a result, any club member can apply for a Jewson Partner Discount Card, at the following link.
