Unbeaten U12 Hawks beat Priory to stay top of the league

The U12 Hawks team continued their unbeaten run in the East Surrey Colts League with a 19-run victory over Reigate Priory.

Having been 17-3 Matt Lehain and Tristan Meyer came in to take the score to 84-3 before both had to retire having made 25. The Hawks finished on 112-7 off 20 overs.

The bowling started well, although in Tristan's first over a caught and bowled chance damaged his thumb which meant the side were then a bowler down.

Luckily Matt Cripps, brother of James, who is only an under nine, was watching so came on to field and took a catch and got a run out. This, along with Ben Lehain, an Under 10 who was also fielding, taking two catches helped Merstham substantially.

Excellent bowling by Harry Younan, Noah young, Max Anderson, Sam Luard and James Cripps resulted in the opposition being bowled out for 93 . It was a great all round team performance which puts Merstham Hawks top of the league with two games remaining.
