Richard Feist honoured as Merstham CC pick up two awards

Merstham Cricket Club picked up two honours at the Reigate and Banstead Sports Awards evening held at Reigate Priory Rugby Club on Monday night.

Richard Feist - our club captain, second XI captain and social secretary - was awarded volunteer of the year.

And everyone at Quality Street can take credit for the second award - that of Club of the Year.

The entries were put in earlier this year and the awards relate to the 2016 season, when the Saturday first and second XIs both won promotion, placing all four Saturday teams in the Surrey Championship for the first time.

However the award is not just for such achievements, but reflects the club's position in the community providing more than a dozen junior sides, girls cricket and developing opportunities for disability sides too. The awards are run by the Reigate and Banstead District Sports Council.
