Merstham Magics win twice in Essex
The Magics, Merstham's disability side, took part in the Essex League tournament at the county ground in Chelmsford, playing matches against sides from Harold Wood and Chelmsford & Basildon.
They set to the task with huge enthusiasm and took the honours in both their games, winning the first eight-over pairs match by seven runs and the second by a massive 58 runs.
It was a real team performance with everyone playing at their best, including the two press-ganged players brought in on the day to make up numbers - thanks, Roseanne and Jess.
Tails were up from the first over with a wicket from Matt, right through to the last when Alex knocked boundaries off each of the six balls he faced.
This was the first match the Magics have played wearing Merstham shirts and it had a huge effect in consolidating the players both as a team and as part of the Merstham club. We look forward eagerly to welcoming some of the Essex sides to Quality Street next month.
