A Covid-19 cricket tea (with a difference) on Saturday 2nd May 2020, 1pm to 5pm.

Dear Members,

Firstly let me say thank you to you all for staying at home and helping with the government guidelines and regulations. We will hopefully see some cricket this summer.

Behind the scenes, we have been working hard keeping up the ground each week in case we get the call. With high demand by dog walkers, we have been in touch with the council regarding some dog bins along the North Downs Way walk way.

There are quite a few people in the Merstham and Redhill area that are not as fortunate as others, so we as a club are organising a foodbank and Stripey Stork (this year's charity the club is working with) drop off next weekend.

We're calling it the Covid-19 Cricket Tea with a difference.

Items that we will be looking for as follows:

Tinned spaghetti

Vegetarian tinned meals eg: ratatouille, macaroni and cheese, cheese ravioli. Fray Bentos veg pies

Tea

Coffee

Hot chocolate

Tinned meat, eg corned beef, spam, ham etc

Crackers

Tinned potatoes and tinned carrots

Rice pudding

Custard

Jam and marmalade

Pasta and cooking sauces

Hand wash and soap bars

Nappies

Wipes

Toiletries (unopened)

Other options if you are unable to make the event but happy to donate is to use the below links:

If you would like to donate to this event you will need to drive to the car park at:

Merstham Cricket Club

Quality Street

Merstham

RH1 3BB

Between 13.00 - 17.00

Your items would need to be bagged or boxed and left in your boot of the car, you will enter the car park and drive down by the field towards the tarmac area, this is where we will collect your items (you will not need to get out of the car) once items have been collected you can drive out following the route to the right of the car park. This will mean we follow social distancing rules.

We hope you can all help with the donations.

Once again I hope you're all well and keeping safe, please see the Facebook page for lots of drills and skills to follow. I will also be looking at getting some Zoom practice sessions set up and maybe even some social events for the club too.

Remember this will all be behind us soon and we will meet and enjoy the views of the cricket club and enjoy some socialising and drinks and the best club in the area.

If you have any questions, need any assistance yourself or just need someone to talk to please feel free to contact me on 07896 114068.
