Items particularly needed for foodbank collection
Can you help local families in need by popping a few extra items in your shopping this week and supporting our monthly foodbank collection on Saturday 13th February?
Our January collection was our most popular yet. This seems no surprise when the Covid-19 pandemic has put extra pressure on people. Did you know there are more than 2,000 foodbanks now operating in the UK, (according to the Trussell Trust)?
Our club's efforts have really been appreciated by St Matthew's Church and Loveworks, the two foodbanks locally that we have supported since last summer.
And now they need your donations once again. While any packeted or tinned item would be appreciated, below is a list of items that are particularly urgently needed.
So if you can help, just bring your items to us between 12-2pm on 13th February. For Covid secure reasons, just put them in your car boot and let our volunteers take them out without you getting out of the car. Simply drive into Quality Street, follow the signs, open the boot (or tell a volunteer how) and thereby leave your items with us. We're planning another drop off on Saturday March 13th, too.
Items particularly needed:
tinned vegetarian meals
tins of meat casserole (ideally 2/3 tins of same thing for large
families)
tinned cold meat (including hot dog sausages)
tinned chicken soup
pasta sauce
tinned potatoes
tinned carrots and peas

tinned fruit
tinned custard
toilet rolls
long life milk
cereals (but not porridge)
strong supermarket bags or "bags for life"
jars of coffee, particularly small ones
