Ladies indoor match report - Top of the table clash
Our fifth indoor match saw us face a very strong Horley side in a top of the table clash.
We won the toss and chose to bowl. Once again our fielding was strong and we managed two run outs. We bowled well with Alice being the standout. But a couple of their players managed to score a few sixes which gave us a pretty big target of 141.
We started well with Emma and Alice rotating the strike beautifully. Daisy top scored with 16. Horley bowled fast and accurate which made runs hard to come by in the middle overs. We didn’t give up and with young Jess Keller as our last batter standing, we saw out the 12 overs, scoring 85.
I am really proud of the team for staying focused and working as a team. The opposition were simply too strong for us this match!
Huge thank you to @Ollie Martin for umpiring his first indoor league match (different rules in this league) and also to the lovely @Nat Lehain for scoring for us.
We go again next week against Horley in our final indoor match of the season.
Merstham Ladies - you are a credit to the club playing in great spirit and so incredibly supportive of each other. I wouldn’t ever want to play for another club ❤️
(Ed: just so we're clear, the club ain't letting you leave Skip! 😜)
