The Merstham Magics (Merstham Disability Team) won their first game last night with a close fought victory over the Wallington Warriors, fielidng first, Merstham kept Wallington down to 65 - 3 with wickets shared around and good fielding by all the players. In reply, Merstham started slowly but managed not to lose any wickets against tight bowling, then some heavy blows towards the end of the innings got Merstham over the line to victory, the Magics next game will be on the 2nd March at Hawthorns School.

The 3rd XI and 4th XI teams will be playing Home games at Godstone Green this season. Both teams are in the Rymans Surrey Championship. It is hoped we have plenty of players from Godstone CC wishing to play in the teams. In deciding to run a 4th XI League team the Committee are sure this is a step forward for the Club with many younger players gaining experience as well as the influx of experienced players from Godstone. We fully expect healthy competition for places and hope for a good turn out in the nets.

The 3rd XI are in Division 2 and have their first League match on 7th May at Home to Farnham and the 4th XI are in the Central Division, with their first League match on the 21st May v Chessington.

Congratulations to the 2nd Team that have been promoted to Division 1 of the 2nd X1 League for 2011. Rob Young will have a tough challenge ahead of him for 2011 but with so many great results last season I am sure the team will enter the top division with no fear at all and plenty of confidence.
