Dan is raising money for “Cricket without boundaries”. He is off to Kenya shortly to use his skills, knowledge and enthusiasm for cricket. He will be coaching cricket to children living with Aids and HIV.

 

The 1st Team finally secured promotion after gaining an easy win over Croydon MO on a terrible pitch at Chaldon.

Congratulations must go to Ed Loader the Captain and in particular to Nasir Hossain, who in his first season at the club has gained an amazing record of 71 wickets, unbelievable !!! Joe Shinners, Manish Patel, Simon Rivers, Ali Pervaiz, Adeel Ahmed, Wasil Mohar, Ed Dawson who was behind the stumps in his first season was a welcome new addition as well as Nav Saeed, Liam Powell and James Lowe.

 
 

Merstham CC hosted the first August Big Bash on Wednesday 3rd July. Mixed teams of 8 players from 5 local companies, Towers Watson, Simply Sports, Just Retirement, Travellers and Agears enjoyed a fun filled evening of cricket.

Surrey County Cricket held their fourth annual OSCA's at The Oval on Wednesday 3rd July. Elizabeth Donkin collected the award for Young Volunteer. Elizabeth has recently qualified as a coach and plays an active role in the girls and disability coaching on a Wednesday at QS. She is also the team manager of the Surrey U13 girls. This is a well deserved award.

Chris Lowe also recevied recognition for his work in building a partnership with Godstone Cricket Club. Chris was unable to collect his award in person, luckily Terry G was on hand to accept it on behalf of Chris and the Club.

 
 

Merstham U9s have won the clubs first trophy of the 2011 season. They took part in the six aside tournament held at Capel and came away triumphant winners. Many congratulations to all.

 

Continuing the development of the Merstham Magics disability team, Merstham arranged a festival held at Quality Street on the 2nd June.

Now boasting 25 members, Merstham Magics made up the majority of the players. A team from Sussex and Wallington also took part in the festival.

The group was split in to 2 teams.  The Wallington Players joining the Merstham Magics to become Surrey and they took on their Sussex counterparts.
