Merstham Cricket Club was a much happier place on Saturday night than after the previous week’s four defeats, with the Quality Street clubhouse awash with jubilation at three wins - and tales of woe from the third team’s draw in a game that threatened to last into darkness.
All of Merstham’s four Saturday teams thought they had a strong chance of winning - well, apart from the fourth team - but in the end none of them could do so, with the fours coming as close an any other to taking a victory.
Unfortunately training this evening has had to be cancelled this evening because of bad weather. Please pass this on to all junior players. We are hoping the pitches will be in good condition for tomorrow's games.
