Merstham Cricket Club, it seems, made its own contribution to the recent "This Girl Can" campaign by Sport England when the new Merstham Junior Girls side played their first ever competitive match.
We are looking for a fixtures secretary for the 2016 season because the current holder of the post will be moving away shortly.
The majority of the work arranging Sunday fixtures - and some Saturday ones - for next season will be done over the winter. The job then involves keeping up with fixture changes during the summer. Full training and advice will be given. We have also been without a vice chairman this season. Merstham Cricket Club's annual dinner and dance will take place on Friday October 9 at Reigate Hill Golf Club.
Tickets are priced £35 and there will be a live band.
Merstham's U11s NEC side won for the second time this season, this time against Southern Railway & Kenley.
Merstham fielded first with Tristan opening the bowling. It was a steady start by Kenley with the first wicket falling in the 5th over bowled by Noah and stumped by Matt L. Jude and James both picked up a wicket each.

Merstham Cricket Club has successfully been awarded a grant to enhance its facilities, approved by Surrey County Cricket Club.
Merstham Eagles, one of two U9 sides, produced their performance of the season so far in overpowering Salfords, scoring 335-6 before Salfords replied with 269-8.
Luke Hirchfield opening up set the tone with a classy 25. Solid batting from the next two pairs including 14 from Ben Wright merely laid the platform for a blaze of power hitting from Will John Cox who hit 39 off 13 balls with four sixes and three fours.

Unbeaten Fuller’s League Division One leaders Merstham made slightly heavy weather of beating Thames Ditton, who were the second opponents in a row to have a batsman score a century against them.
